Risk disclosure

Funding assets through Bikenance will carry real risk. Read this before you join the waitlist as a funder.

LAST UPDATED · SEPTEMBER 2026
Draft. This page is placeholder text and will be replaced by counsel-approved wording before launch. Bikenance is in pre-launch and currently only operates a waitlist. This is not legal advice and does not form part of any agreement.

01Bikenance is in pre-launch

Bikenance does not yet fund, own or lease any bikes. The only thing it currently operates is a waitlist. No units can be bought, no money is being accepted, and joining the waitlist creates no obligation for you or for us.

Figures on this site — unit prices, weekly repayments, target returns, pool sizes — are targets or illustrations, not results. Participation will open only once the legal structure is approved in Zimbabwe.

02You could lose money

Once pools open, funding $25 units in an asset pool would mean your capital is used to buy motorbikes leased to delivery riders in Harare, Zimbabwe. Your return would depend on those riders making their weekly repayments. If they don't, you may get back less than you put in, or nothing at all.

Repayments will not be guaranteed by Bikenance, any rider, any insurer or any other party. There is no repayment history yet, and targets are not predictions.

03Operating risks

Bikes can be stolen, damaged or written off. Riders can fall ill, stop working or stop paying. Insurance, GPS tracking, the remote immobiliser and the planned first-loss reserve would reduce these risks but not remove them.

Recovering and re-deploying a bike takes time and money, and recovered bikes may sell for less than their remaining value.

04Currency, market and country risk

Units are planned to be denominated in US dollars, and riders will repay by EcoCash in USD or ZiG. Changes to Zimbabwe's currency arrangements, exchange-rate movements, exchange controls, mobile-money charges or limits, inflation, fuel prices and changes in local regulation can all reduce what riders are able to repay and what reaches holders.

05Liquidity and technology

Units may be hard or impossible to sell before the end of a pool's term. Transfers will be restricted to verified holders.

Records will be kept on a blockchain. Smart contracts and the networks they run on can fail, be attacked or behave unexpectedly, and on-chain transactions generally cannot be reversed.

06Not an offer of securities

Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, securities or any other financial product in Zimbabwe or any other jurisdiction. Nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice. When participation opens, only fund what you can afford to lose, and take independent advice if you are unsure.
